Leadership skills cannot be acquired by reading a book or listening to a lecture. Instead they should be provided with interactive and challenging activities that allow them to develop qualities such as determination, focus, social confidence, self-discipline etc. These characteristics are crucial to developing leadership skills.

    A leader with vision has a clear, vivid picture of where to go, what success looks like and how to achieve it. In addition to having a vision, leaders must also share it and act upon it. A good leader has to direct his or her actions and those of the team toward the goal, for a leader Action is the mark.
    Leadership takes on many different faces; it’s just a question about how you lead and why. It is an ability to determine the leaders of industry in the future. Graduates need to show potential to motivate teams, assign and delegate tasks and leading by good example. Here are few key business leadership skills for a graduate to succeed as a leader
    Lead By Example -You can’t be an aloof leader. One of the best ways to lead is by lending a helping hand and making sure that the work you do is clearly understood by your team.
    Be Organized -When you’re organized you will be much more productive and so will everyone else. If you are messy, your team will be too.
    Communicate Effectively- Its known that a great leader has to be great communicator. It’s critical that you communicate to employees how their work matters in the bigger picture.
    Fairness - Dealing with others consistently and justly. A leader before passing judgment must check all the facts and hear everyone out there.
    Sense of humor - Effective leaders know how to use humor to energize followers, to relieve tension and boredom.
    Great Listener - A huge part of being a great communicator is being a great listener. You’re not a leader, if all you want to do is talk. You need to listen to them, asking them questions and understand their issues.
    Take Ownership and Responsibility - You have to take ownership and responsibility at all times, let your team know that you’ll be there for them through the good and the bad times.
